Everyday Living Around the World – Vernacular MUJI Items : Asia edition Friday, 27th June ― Sunday, 31st August 2025

Today, MUJI operates over 1,300 stores across 29 countries and regions, including Japan. We strive to offer products and services that are thoughtfully attuned to everyday life in each place.
When visiting MUJI stores around the world, you may notice something: alongside familiar items seen in Japan, you’ll find products that reflect the specific culture, materials, and daily needs of the country or region where the store is located.
At the heart of MUJI’s philosophy, there is a commitment to create universal products that could be useful anywhere – items that offer room for creativity in the user, inviting flexible use across different contexts. At the same time, MUJI values deep, ongoing dialogue with people in each location. We develop products that respond to local lifestyles, resources, and culinary traditions.
These approaches – balancing universality with respect for the climate, culture and lifestyle of each local area- are MUJI’s way of staying truly “useful” in lives and societies, wherever they may be.
This exhibition can be a space to share some of those stories that have emerged from MUJI’s encounters with vernacular cultures around the world. We hope that, through these locally made and locally used MUJI products, you will be inspired to reflect on the rich diversity of everyday living and cultural expression across the globe.
