TOKYO MODERNISM 2022
Modern design of the mid-century period from the 1940s to the 1960s: From the aesthetic forms and functional beauty of the creations, to the designers themselves and the background of manufacturing during this period, all of these elements continue to fascinate us today.
This project introduces the pleasure of seeing modern design as art in three different venues: IDÉE TOKYO, ATELIER MUJI GINZA and MUJI HOTEL GINZA.
From the heart of Tokyo, we are showing off the fascination for excellent modern design from all over the world.
Modernism Gallery
ATELIER MUJI GINZA showcases exceptional pieces that have influenced our team, who engage with modern design daily. These selections come from galleries and shops across Japan that celebrate the brilliance of modern design, particularly from the 1940s to 1960s. We present these pieces alongside the stories behind them.
